GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Director of Human Resources is a member of the Global Products and Services (GPS) Human Resource team. The Director will be charged with providing strong client service and HR guidance to the assigned business units. The primary areas of human resource responsibilities will include talent management, talent development, and talent acquisition. The HR Director is responsible for managing and executing the day-to-day human resources activities for a diverse, employee and academic workforce for a global, emerging, fast paced and student centered enterprise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for matters relating to employee relation's issues, organizational initiatives, company-wide policies, practices and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships to partner with business, academic, and functional leaders to develop and implement programs to support business needs.
  • Serve as s functional HR expert; ensuring employment documents, handbooks and other associated documents are prepared, updated according to legal procedures and guidelines, and adhered to in a compliant manner.
  • Partner with the business, academic, and functional leaders to implement programs to support business and institutional needs.
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability and collaboration within levels of the employee population in a global, very complex and matrix organization.
  • Successfully implement and manage organizational programs such as training offerings, performance management, and individual development planning.
  • Collaborate with business and academic leaders to assess specific talent development needs and recommend solutions.
  • Provide guidance to ensure appropriate talent acquisition and development are delivered for the designated business partners.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team throughout the recruitment process for assigned business areas
  • Prepare HR related reports by utilizing HR related applications
  • Participate as a member of the local management team providing guidance and input to the business with an emphasis on people related actions.
External Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related degree required. PHR certification preferred.
  • Qualified individuals will have 7 to 10 years of HR generalist and management experience in an academic and/or business setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal as well as written communication skills
  • Successful track record influencing and working effectively in a collaborative manner with diverse teams across all levels of management in a very complex or matrix organization.
  • Experience in employee/staff development, supervision, and evaluation
  • Demonstrated effective experience working in a lean start-up operation simultaneously handling talent acquisition, employee relations, and training functions as well as other priorities.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities with fast paced, customer focused interfaces in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency follow-up skills and strong relationship building skills are required.
  • Proven ability to work at tactical level; willingness to take a hands-on approach
  • Must be proficient in MS office applications and HRIS applications
  • Global or Multi- National Experience is highly preferred.
