Polling data released Wednesday showed U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell as a nine point favorite to start his re-election bid.
The survey conducted by RunSwitch Public Relations in conjunction with conservative polling firm Harper Polling shows McConnell leading rumored potential Democratic Senate candidate, actress Ashley Judd.
In a hypothetical head-to-head test, McConnell would get 49 percent to Judd?s 40 percent in the survey of 850 likely Kentucky voters. It had a margin of error of 3.36 points, according to the polling memo.
McConnell and Judd tied when it comes to support of women voters, each receiving 44 percent.
Scott Jennings, co-founder of RunSwitch, cites the SuperPAC ad mocking Judd was found to be effective when polling about Judd not currently being a Kentucky resident and being referred to as a ?radical?.
The firm said in the statement it will release more results from the survey on Thursday.
