U.S. Paralympics Swimming Trials in Bismarck

Athletes hope to quality for Games in London

The top U.S. athletes with a physical disability from around the country will compete at the Bismarck State College Aquatic & Wellness Center in Bismarck in the 2012 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Trials June 14-16.? The competition is the sole selection event for swimming athletes to qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games.

The competition, which is a free, family-friendly event, will include U.S. Paralympians such as Jessica Long (Baltimore, Md.), and Rudy Garcia-Tolson (Bloomington, Calif.), Lance Lamback (Augusta, Ga.), among others, as well as many athletes looking to qualify for their first Paralympic Games.

The 2012 Paralympic Games will take place in London, England, August 29 ? September 9. More than 4,000 athletes with a physical disability from 165 countries will compete in 19 sports.

The BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center features an eight-lane, 50-meter pool and is fully accessible. The facility also provides ample seating for spectators.
