Have you been sickened by Wegmans spinach and spring mix salad? Even if you have a mild case of E. coli poisoning, you have legal rights. You can contact E. coli lawyer Fred Pritzker and his Bad Bug Law Team for more information.
Wegmans organic spinach and spring mix salad has caused an outbreak of E. coli food poisoning in New York that has sickened at least 19 people in 5 counties, including Erie, Monroe, Niagra, Steuben and Wayne. One of the E. coli victims is still in the hospital.
Attorney Fred Pritzker represents E. coli victims nationwide. He and his Bad Bug Law Team are investigating this outbreak and the associated recall of Wegmans spinach and spring mix salad due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7.
?A family member of one of the E. coli victims contacted us. Her relative was diagnosed with E. coli but was not hospitalized. She did not think her relative could sue for compensation. Every E. coli victim has the right to sue the responsible companies for pain and suffering, medical expenses and other lawful compensation,? said Pritzker, who recently won over $40,000,000 for clients injured by another unsafe product.
?New research has found that E. coli victims, even those with a mild infection, are at risk for future kidney disease and may need a kidney transplant. This is particularly true for E. coli victims who develop hemolytic uremic syndrome. E. coli victims should also be compensated for this future risk.?
Pritzker and his team have helped many, many E. coli victims, including those with mild symptoms and those who developed serious complications. One of the most dangerous complications is hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), the leading cause of kidney failure in children in the United States.
This Wegmans E. coli outbreak in?Erie, Monroe, Niagra, Steuben and Wayne counties is not related to a September outbreak in the same area, according to Jeffrey Hammond, a spokesman for the New York State Department of Health. Health officials have not found the cause of the September E. coli outbreak in Livingston and Onondaga counties that sickened 10 people, Hammond said. DNA testing (PFGE) has ruled out a connection between the two outbreaks.
A recall of the spinach and spring mix salad has removed the implicated lots of this product from shelves at Wegmans stores in New York and 5 other states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. The Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Organic Spinach & Spring Mix was sold in 5 oz and 11 oz plastic clamshell packages between October 14 and November 1.
